This is how we do it...

Sure wish I had the Samantha "wiggle your nose" presto-change0 thing going on sometimes. Oh, heck most of the time. Especially when it comes to loading in and out. Somehow loading out pottery isn't as much fun as Jackson Browne had when the roadies came to take his piano. Had a little trip down memory lane when I went searching for this link. Jim and I saw him on the "Running on Empty" tour in Louisiana. Karla Bonoff opened for him, and it was like two great concerts for the price of one.
Speaking of load outs, Spence and Tides of Man are on their second tour and doing the load in and out every night. Now there's some dedication to your craft. He had a nice write up in the Gaston Gazette yesterday.

Music news

Spencer, pre Tides of Man

We took a quick jaunt up to Indianapolis to visit Jim's folks. Weather was quite nice and we got to see a great performance of Doc Severinsen and Gil Gutierrez and Pedro Cartas with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. They have a really great blend of jazz and Spanish music.

On other music news, Tides of Man is getting together a tour for the summer and the release of their album will be this summer. They are very excited. For those who don't know, Spencer Gill, our son, is in this band and they have signed a record deal with Rise Records, an indy label. We saw tentative dates and locations and boy is that a wild ride! If you are on Facebook, you can catch them here.

Tides of Man

These are some little ceramic pendants that I made for Spence's band to sell as "merch", also know as merchandise, for those of us who aren't in the music biz. I string them from a leather or black cord. We'll see how they go for them

He was very excited because they had a full page article in a magazine called REAX, and they have been working on new music for the next full length cd. It's really amazing to watch your grown children with all their accomplishments. He's the third guy from the left in the pix.
