Red Shutters and New Garden Area

The work on the red shutters and garden area has ceased for the moment. My newest, non-pottery making venture was to rearrange the throwing studio so that I could elevate my wheel. Before all organization is a moment (or in this case, many days) of chaos and confusion. Right in the middle of it I was wondering why. However, cleanliness and order has been restored and I will be able to start throwing again on Monday.

In case you were wondering, this is not the organzied version. That photo will follow next week. I had to crawl into the car after finishing Friday, with no energy left to document the labor.

Congrats on the studio "feng shui"... Looking forward to seeing pics of the finished result. FYI: I raised my wheel when moving to my new studio late last year. A little weird at first, but much better on the back once I got used to it.

Thanks Patricia, I haven't thrown with the wheel up yet. Do expect it will feel very different. Mine has a foot pedal and I don't know whether to put it on the floor or try to rig up something to be able to control the wheel speed by hand. What did you do?

Hi Vicki- I actually sit-stand. Helps my legs and my back. Here's a great place to learn about it: potters.org. Type in "change of seat" in the search. I purchased a sit-stand stool. If you go the standing route (instead of sit-stand), John Glick has a great article on his site, including how to fashion a support. Good luck!
